The Role

The Retail Supervisors / Team Leaders are essential in the daily operations of our stores. You will take a hands on approach to ensuring the smooth operation of our fuel retail store, working at the front of house and leading by example to ensure that the team is motivated to deliver exceptional customer service and keep the store looking the part!
 
At a Retail Shift Supervisor / Team Leader level, you will have responsibility not only for leading the team, but coaching and developing them too so that they have the tools they need to be great at what they do. But you’ll also be good at spotting talent too, identifying and preparing those who shine to take the next step on their career path.
 
It’s almost like being a Store Manager as you will stand-in for the manager when they’re not around, but it allows you the opportunity to enjoy the responsibility with the support of a great manager to show you the ropes for when you’re ready to step into their shoes.

Retail Supervisor / Team Leadermain duties include:

• Check forecourt for maintenance issues, ensuring fuel pumps are clean and include towels, gloves and bins
• Check temperature records are being recorded in the legal diary and report any issues to the Site Manager
• Ensure store shelves are stocked and merchandised/presented to attract maximum sales
• Ensure cleaning schedules are in place and followed by staff
• Conduct stock checks of all products including tobacco, oil, car care and lotto instants reporting variances
• Check current fuel volumes, stock at site and delivery plans to meet with target fuel stock holding
• Running the site in the managers absence
• Ensure staff are promoting and upselling products
• Ensure staff uniforms and name badges are worn at all times
• Ensure staff are trained in relation to all policies and procedures
• Assist with staff rotas in line with budgeted hours
• Motivate, drive and encourage staff
• Assist with cashing/banking summaries and reports and perform the relevant checks

The Ideal Retail Supervisor / Team Leader:

Experienced of working within a retail environment, ideally with some level of Supervisor / Team Leader skills. Fuel service experience is an advantage, but not essential.

The successful candidate must have a “can-do” attitude, be a great mentor and have the ability to be a leader in customer service delivery. A flexible approach top working hours is essential due to the 24 hour operation of our sites.
