Role: Regional Sales Manager (Technical) - UK and Europe

Location: UK wide, home working/ client facing. (near well connected airport)

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 (Experience depending) + company car and strong variable %, private health, matched 6% pension

The Company

I am managing the recruitment for an industry focused company operating in flow measurement field. This company are industry leading and supply heavily into the Oil & Gas industry. With a international presence, and the engineer team working out of their well-established HQ based in County Durham. Demands for their leading product mixed with an increasing reputation across Europe means this role is critical and an immediate need.

Day to Day Activity:

*Has responsibility for achieving sales targets for specific product groups within a particular geographic area either directly with end users and contractors (mainly oil & gas companies & contractors) or via agent/distribution network.

*Responsible for project pursuit of major contracts working in conjunction with the relevant product managers, office-based sales engineers and other geographically based Regional sales managers (for global projects). Project pursuit covers initial lead generation, prequalification, conceptual studies, design studies, detail design, formal bidding and order negotiation covering both technical and commercial issues. It involves liaison across a wide range of disciplines (Procurement, Instrumentation, Subsea Controls, Mechanical, Project, Reservoir/Process) and at all levels within client organisations.

*Responsibility for developing and implementing in country/regional strategies to expand sales in the relevant geographic market. Includes ongoing analysis and development of sales channels including (if required) finding, appointing and management and training of agents/distributors (if required)

*Responsible for market intelligence within a specific geographic region including customer requirement trends (including identification of new products applications or opportunities), competitor activity and order forecasting.

*Ensures sales team has a sufficient technical and commercial information to prepare quotations. Involve carrying out screening of enquiries and specifications, preliminary calculations and generating small and budget quotation.

*Involvement in other associated customer management duties including customer liaison for commissioning and other after sales requirements.

*Promotional activities including product presentations, local management and attendance of relevant exhibitions and conferences. Includes liaison with group marketing manager/product managers for identification and management of specific marketing activities.

*Reporting requirements include submission quarterly/ annual travel plans plus submission of weekly visit plans, visit reporting, contact management and order forecasting via a CRM system or in the company's sales meetings
*Ad hoc assistance to the global sales team.

Proven experience in:
*Knowledge of Contract terms & conditions; contract negotiation
*Commercial knowledge i.e costing, margins
*Proven Sales Experience within the Oil & Gas Sector (3 years minimum) with a high emphasis on project pursuit.
*Ability to find and develop new business.
*Experience in developing & managing sales channels
*Confident and communicative
*Ability to work on own initiative, execute own call plan
*Ability to work in a team environment (close liaison with sales engineers, product managers and other RSM's)
*Good presentation skills
*Professional manner and responsible attitude
*Willingness to travel (up to 90 days abroad per annum).
*Computer literate (word, excel, CRM)
*Clean Driving license

Qualifications/ Experience

* Recognized Engineering qualification (Engineering Degree or relevant experience)
*Technical training in a related discipline (Flow measurement, Instrumentation & Control or Subsea preferred)
