Main purpose of the role -

To act as a point of welcome to theatres and provide a friendly, welcoming, professional, efficient, customer service to all customers.

To contribute to the safety of audiences and adhere at all times to health and safety and licensing regulations.

To maximise bar and kiosk sales and supporting the achievement of financial targets.

Main duties of role-

Welcoming patrons to the theatre, checking tickets, and directing them to their seats.

Sitting in the auditorium during performances in order to monitor the customer experience and ensure the safety and comfort of audiences.

To operate kiosk and bar sales points and sell theatre programmes, merchandise, sweets,ice cream, beverages and snacks; to abide by and enforce appropriate licensing regulations.

To be knowledgeable of the products that the bar and kiosk serve. To correctly operate the bar and kiosk's cash registers and PDQ machines; to be pro-active in bar and kiosk sales to ensure maximum profitability.

Ensuring that bar and kiosk stock is checked and rotated effectively, and ensuring appropriate stock levels of drinks, ice creams and sweets are met for the next performance, and that cash and stock are kept securely.

Securely handling cash and card payments, taking the appropriate care and accuracy for transactions through the tills during sales periods.

To ensure the public areas, foyer, auditorium and toilets are presentable at all times, and where necessary carry out light cleaning duties, collection of litter, clearing tables, collection of glasses and any other relevant tasks requested by the Duty Manager.

Providing general information, handling queries and any enquiries from customers.

Ensure a thorough knowledge of all events and activities at Theatrau Sir Gar to give the best possible customer service, responding efficiently to visitor enquiries.

To be aware of the fire evacuation and Health & Safety requirements and report any problems to the Duty Manager. Being prepared for any incidents and emergencies, and in the case of an emergency undertaking and active role in evacuation duties.

Assist with the setting up, operating and clearing away of furniture, tableware, food and beverages for functions and events.

To meet Theatrau Sir Gar's agreed standards of dress and appearance codes.

To strive for continuous improvements in customer care by making positive suggestions for change.

On occasion you may be asked to help with other roles within the department, such as assisting the café bar, box office, or assisting the Duty Manager.

To keep up-to-date on current Front of House practices, attend and contribute to staff meetings, and attend any appropriate training sessions related to the position.

This is an ad hoc role , and the shifts will mainly be evenings and weekends so candidates must be flexible .
