Operations Supervisor / Deputy Duty Manger (Permanent)

Location: Hastings, East Sussex

Salary: £17,600 per annum

The company operates three attractions in Hastings; Smugglers Adventure and Hastings Castle that are steeped in history dating back to 1066. Then third attraction, Blue Reef Aquarium is situated on the seafront, in the historic Old Town of Hastings. Blue Reef has an array of spectacular 'underwater gardens'.

The Aquarium is open all year round whereas Smuggles Adventure and Hastings Castle open from February to November of each year.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Cluster Manager and Deputy General Manager you will play an important hands on role in this small team managing the daily operations of the departments. You will lead by example and motivate the team members to ensure high standards at all times.

You will create exceptional, engaging and compelling guest experiences for all visitors to the Discover Hastings attractions.

The role will include event co-ordination, record and report keeping, managing and growing secondary revenue streams, admin duties and training and recruitment of seasonal staff members.

This role also includes Duty Management responsibilities - opening and closing procedures including cash management. Full attraction checks/walk rounds, daily/weekly reporting, till system operation and daily health and safety checks.

This is a full time post which involves working 5 days a week and often includes working weekends and bank holidays.

About You:

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, excel in all areas of customer service, enjoy challenging situations and able to create a positive and innovative working atmosphere.

Sales experience would also be an advantage as we strive to meet targets in our outlets. A previous supervisory/managerial role in the leisure and tourism industry is desirable.

The successful candidate should also have the ability to develop themselves and their team within this role.
