Due to continued success and growth, we are now looking to recruit a Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Beddington, working 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday.

The Role:

The Controls and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the C&I equipment at the Beddington ERF Plant, providing support to other disciplines as necessary using experience and skills. The C&I Technician will assist in the coordination of contractors as required, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Duties include:

  • Ensures maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant.
  • Works alongside other functions as necessary, assist with supervision of contractors.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and rectify as required
  • Management of calibration records and implementation of instrument calibrations
  • Be pro-active and creative in problem solving and use initiative
  • Conduct plant inspections and area safety inspections

The ideal Controls and Instrumentation Technician will have:

  • Understanding of Environmental and H&S issues and their impacts
  • Experience in Control & Instrumentation engineering within process industry or power plants
  • Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management systems
  • Possess appropriate technical qualifications City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent)
  • DCS/SCADA experience
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, think logically and problem solve
