Rate: Negotiable - Circa £400/day
ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client seeks an RF Engineer to undertake a contract role relating to spacecraft payloads.
the payload RF engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform RF link budget computation and conduct associated trade-offs
- Contribute to RF subsystem architecture, provide inputs for hardware selection (antenna) including the application of S-parameters analysis
- Take into account EMC requirements within the design
- Manage interfaces between subsystems
- Manage customer requirements and devolve these into subsystem requirements
- Support integration and verification strategy for the RF subsystems
- Support bids providing technical insight as well as costing inputs
- Deliver defined tasks to budget & schedule
- Knowledge in data handling is an asset
Skills
Essential:
- S-Parameter analysis
- EMC
- Proven ability working during initial design phases, this project is currently pre-PDR
Desirable:
- Proven ability working on space equipment is strongly desirable
- MATLAB
- Requirements Management (DOORS)

Due to the sensitive nature of the product, all applicants must have worked in the defence industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining a UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
