Who are we looking for?
As our ideal Surfacing Operative, you will be able to demonstrate relevant proven experience within civil engineering or highways maintenance. You will also require:
- CSCS Qualification
- Service Technical Knowledge
- Health & Safety IOSH
- IT Literate Word Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- Driving Licence
What will I be responsible for?
Joining our team as a Surfacing Operative, you will be responsible for operating specific plant and carrying out site tasks as required. This role will also involve:
- Complying with health and safety regulations
- Carry out pre-start checks on each machine you are operating (including hired-in plant).
- Report any plant defects to your Foreman immediately.
- Agree and review with the Foreman the gang’s targets and costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of working.
- Ensure material waste is minimised.
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Be polite and courteous to the client and the general public.
- Discuss monthly gang performance with your team and encourage feedback to your line managers.
