Building Engineering Technician
The candidate will be required to have: minimum of 5 years relevant experience in inspection and construction of buildings Have an HNC or equivalent in building, civil, structural or related engineering subject. (If no formal qualifications, 10 years minimum relevant experience required) IPAF 3a and 3b certificate Competent training skills e.g. Asbestos, Confined Spaces, Working at Height etc. Key technical skills: To be able to operate at a fully competent level working as part of a team and independently. Have a good knowledge of building construction technology and building pathology. Have a good working knowledge of the building regulations, CDM and appropriate legislation. Have knowledge of and be able to apply construction related health and safety legislation and good practice. Have the ability to evaluate different building options, prepare a scope of works and provide estimates of proposed work. Demonstrate commercial awareness and be able to assess value for money for building work carried out. Have relevant experience of using all Microsoft packages. Be organised and methodical when undertaking surveys, preparing or managing appointments and workload priorities
