Waterway Operative - Southall (Contract)
Our client one of the UK's largest charities, who maintain 2,000 miles of historic canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs, is looking to recruit a Waterway Operative to work in the Southall area for an initial 3 Month Contract with a review to extend.
The main duties of the role will be to join existing maintenance teams responsible for the upkeep and conservation of the Canal Network in and around the Southall area.
The role is to be based in Southall but will cover the local area so the successful candidate must be flexible regarding working location and willing to travel.
Typical tasks will include Grounds Maintenance, Towpath Repair, Bricklaying, Operating Lock Gates, Fence Repair and other general maintenance duties as required so a construction background is ideally what they are looking for.
In addition, the successful candidate will be in regular contact with users of the canal network so good Customer Service skills are required as well.
A full driving license is required for the position.
