Nursery Room Leader (Permanent)

First Step Nursery is a Multicultural setting where we aim to deliver the highest standard of teaching and care to our children in both Plumstead and Deptford.

We are looking for a Room Leaders at both nursery settings caring for children aged 6 months - 5 years. The ideal person must have experience leading a busy room to join our senior team and act as a suitable person with key privileges to the nursery.

*** You must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare ***

What will I be doing?

Our Nursery Room Leader will effectively manage the allocated room and support in planning and delivering a full range of activities for the children to meet all their areas of need. Leading by example, you will be an excellent model of good practice therefore being an excellent role model for other staff and children.

The Room Leader supports effective day to day running of the Nursery, having an understanding of the EYFS and helping to ensure that those requirements are met. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Nursery, facilitating liaison and effective communication between all members of staff, parents and children.

Our Room Leaders are responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents in encouraging parent participation on Nursery outings.

Days and hours of work: Full Time

First Step Nursery understand that our staff are what makes our environment a wonderful place for children to learn and develop. Working within our friendly team, Nursery Room Leaders receive £9.50 - £11.00 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
