Acorn Recruitment is actively recruiting for a Safety Coordinator for our client who are a global metal refinery organisation.
Reporting directly to the Safety, Health & Environment Manager and will be responsible for ensuring there are efficient safety systems in place and that all working at the the Refinery are suitably equipped in managing Occupational Health and Safety at work.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Health and Safety Lead to help improve the Health and Safety Management Systems. The role holder will take a lead in the SAP Incident Management System and will be expected to train employees and contractors in safety compliance. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for advising and assisting in the development of policies, procedures and work instructions. They must promote a positive safety culture through high visibility on plants and engagement with plant personnel on safety and health issues raised. Additional duties include supporting the efforts of all departments to help meet their safety commitments and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Safety, Health and Environment team in the aim of achieving departmental objectives and goals. The Safety Coordinator must take a proactive approach in improving their own personal knowledge of safety legislation and maintain continuous professional development.
