We are now looking to recruit a Landfill Operations Technician to join our team, working 45 hours a week. The successful candidate will be based at our Horton Landfill.

The Role:

The Operations Technician will operate the assets and carry out general Planned Preventative Maintenance servicing of the LFG and AD utilisation plants and equipment within the agreed cost, time and quality parameters; maintaining accurate records and work in accordance with Company Policies and procedures. You’ll liaise with the site management in delivering site environmental and Health and Safety Compliance.

This is a specialist role ensuring the integrity and robustness of all assets and ancillary equipment in the powergen region. The Landfill Operations Technician will liaise with the Field Service and other Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve operational faults and maximise performance. You’ll also be responsible for the upkeep of all site tools and equipment and ensure spare parts and consumables are available when required.

Our ideal Operations Technician will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance of large reciprocating Powergen assets
  • City and Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Practical experience of maintaining and testing Low Voltage systems
  • General engineering and operations experience in a heavy engineering environment
  • Practical and innovative engineering and maintenance skills
  • Basic ICT literacy including CMMS and Office
  • Self Motivated with ability to work to deadlines
  • Tactful, strong and resilient in demanding situations
