Designer (Temporary)

Acorn is seeking a Furniture Designer to join a successful family run business, located in Thornbury, Gloucestershire.

Rate of pay £11-£12 per hour - will consider a trainee or graduate with practical work experience.

The hours of work are 0700-1515 - Monday to Friday

You will be working both independently and with the lead designer on both the existing furniture range and new products. You will be working in a fun and friendly environment where you will be part of a passionate team that produces market leading furniture of the highest handmade quality. You will work closely with all of the staff members from each department and suppliers and clients on a variety of interesting projects.

As a key member of the design team you will be tasked with producing 3D models and manufacturing drawings for laser cutting and fabrication. This will include GAs, BOMs and detailed parts drawings.

To be considered for this role you will be a proficient Sketchup and Layout Operator. You must be competent with sheet metal design, materials and manufacturing processes.

Key skills required:

Sketchup, layout, Photoshop, excellent verbal & written communication, furniture design, sheet metal design, manufacturing processes, materials, computer literacy and Apple Mac.
