We are now looking to recruit a Leachate Technician to join the team based at our Small Dole site.

The Role:

The Leachate Technician will undertake the safe and effective monitoring, process control and optimisation of the Company’s leachate collection, treatment and disposal assets for regulatory compliance and to minimise the financial burden. This will include the monitoring, operation and maintenance of leachate extraction, storage, treatment, and transfer and disposal assets. 

You’ll be responsible for the upkeep and calibration of all plant, equipment and tools used in monitoring, operation and maintenance of leachate management assets in line with routine and planned preventative maintenance schedules. Additionally, the Leachate Technician will ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when required.

Our ideal Leachate Technician:

  • A good general level of education, coupled with relevant practical experience in an associated discipline
  • An understanding of landfill engineering, specifically leachate collection and treatment systems
  • Experience of working in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • An understanding of data management and interpretation techniques
  • The ability to solve problems using your own initiative, sometimes with no direct supervision
  • Ability to learn efficiently, take on-board new concepts and develop new skills
  • Ideally, you will have knowledge of process control, including the management of PLC and SCADA systems
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
