Job Description:

Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, your role is to support the Business Unit to effectively manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR). To co-ordinate and control change requests within the Business Unit ensuring clear agreement from all stakeholders is agreed to determine the Point of Embodiment (PoE).

  • Monitor all aspects of drawing changes to ensure PoE is agreed.
  • Control production status of all works orders and purchase orders affected by internal drawing changes.
  • Identify customer-drawing changes and indicate cost for the changes.
  • Identify and retrieve of all production orders from shop floor that are affected by drawing change and return them to production and material control.
  • Identify purchase orders affected by drawing changes and inform the purchasing department.
  • To input and generate the necessary bills of material information, manufacturing & Sub Con into the (BaaN) MRP to drive the procurement materials.
  • Interrogate Baan MRP system and identify works orders and stock that require an engineering change.
  • To perform and manage change control within the company procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate when applicable with business improvement initiatives.
  • Organise and chair meetings for change control where necessary.
  • Train other members of the department on change control process to ensure there is no single point failure.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering background with a clear ability to understand engineering drawings
  • ERP/ MRP system knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and control methods
  • Familiar with change control process in N.O.D of Aviation industry
  • Highly PC literate with good knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Have the ability to work without supervision in a multi- functional team.
  • Must implement and maintain a safe environment for employees and immediately raise Health & Safety concerns to management in compliance with the company Health & Safety procedure.
  • Be prepared to participate in business improvement initiatives when scheduled
