Acorn Recruitment is seeking a Production Engineer for a specialist manufacturer located in Bradley Stoke, Bristol.

The ideal candidate will have gained previous experience in an industrial environment as a Production or Process Engineer. Experience of working with assembly lines / manual manufacturing processes is essential.

The purpose of this role will be to analyse, verify and document the industrialisation of the products to ensure that standard products run smoothly from order to fulfilment. The Production Engineer will also be require to identify manufacturing improvements through optimisation and continuous improvement, in accordance with the instructions of the Site Director.


Responsibilities will include:

- Carrying out the revisions of the plans and lists of materials, making the adjustments
and corrections.
- Designing and deciding the packaging of finished product and raw material.
- Propose purchases of necessary machinery, tools, etc. to carry out
industrialisation projects.
- Defining and manufacturing the tools that can be internally assumed.
- Generating PFMEA, Quality Plan and Works Instructions.
- Carrying out the parameterisation of WM (SAP) in the part of its responsibility.
- Providing assembly and inspection training.
- Undertaking periodic competency evaluations.
- Working closely with quality personnel to modify and continuously improve processes to
enhance quality, stabilise processes, reduce costs, identify bottlenecks and avoid
duplications.
- Advising the Production Manager of engineering problems or concerns.
- Conferring with other manufacturing engineers to share knowledge and corrective actions
to enhance / improve overall company quality and profitability.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts throughout the organisation utilising Lean
Manufacturing tools including 5S, set-up reduction (SMED), standard work and continuous
flow manufacturing.
- Designing control systems to minimise and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Creating systems to ensure all products meet quality control standards.
- Developing training programs and materials.
- Participating in planning and cost development for projects.
