Who are we looking for?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Alfreton site providing leadership and support to on site engineering staff and site employees. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Overall responsibility for allocating and managing engineering resources, to include costs, deliverables and schedules
  • Responsible for ensuring all site statutory and legislative inspections are completed
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring all site engineering staff have the correct skills and training to enable them to carry out all site tasks
  • Responsible for providing Mechanical knowledge and support to all site project work, which includes the appropriate selection of contractor resources
  • Day to day control of engineering staff and contractors
  • Daily review of last 24 hour production
  • Review and authorisation of requisitions / spend
  • Review asset failures and prioritise improvements
  • Ensure all safety briefs are cascaded to direct reports
  • Stay abreast of developments in factory engineering, implementing improved methods on site as appropriate

Skills and Experience

The ideal Engineering Manager will be/have;

  • Apprentice trained
  • HND or Degree in Engineering
  • Experience of leading a multi skilled engineering team
  • Proven track record in Engineering Management
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Knowledge of best practice maintenance systems, thinking and implementation
  • Experience of industrial boilers would be a strong advantage
