Senior CAD Technician, Permanent, HPC Site - Bridgwater
Role Overview:
The Senior CAD Technician is responsible to produce 3D models and 2D drawings in Site Engineering within the quality standards of the Project. They are responsible for interfacing with the relevant stakeholders to perform the work allocated and supporting the design change management during the construction and collecting and consolidating information from the site contractors in order to issue As-Built models or drawings for the Client organisation.

Produce 2D drawings and intelligent 3D models
Print out limited numbers of drawing to facilitate to collaborative approach on site
Collect information and consolidate it
comply with project quality procedures
be able to react to delays which could impact the overall programme
create detailed documented records and maintained them to ensure clarity of the process and outcomes
inform on the progress of the work allocated
help to the resolution of issues
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the site teams
identify issues and escalate to the manager
use SET model and drawing management system, tools and procedures
Commit to use the project BIM standards
Health and Safety
Maintain their own and others' health, safety and security as defined in the Company health and Safety Policy, to include:

Identify the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
Reporting potential risks identified
Fulfil the Clients Requirements
Under supervision, undertake significant elements of the detailed design, including but not limited to: producing design calculations, sketches, specifications, reports and risk assessments.
Undertake analysis of project elements using suitable software packages and produce structural models.
Quality
Ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance with the Company's Procedures.
Participate in Quality Audits and ensure that any non-conformances are closed out within agreed timescales, and proactively adopt / disseminate best practice wherever it is identified.
Personal Objectives, Learning and Development
Participate in training and 1-2-1s in line with Personal Development Plan and PDR.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.

Ensure information about the business of the Company is only divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Company policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.
Skills/Competencies/Experience/Qualifications:
Essential
Practical experience in design, drafting (both in 2D and 3D) and/or construction
Knowledge of current 2D and 3D tools, such as AutoCAD, PDMS, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, etc.
Good working knowledge and previous practical experience of UK BIM level 2 standards and procedures
Accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy, results-oriented, who can work well both as a member of a team, as well as on his/her own
Confident to use own initiative when and if required
Good presentation skills.
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Good English language skills - oral and written
Discretion - able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Desirable
Experience of developing technical solutions, with design decisions validated through design interface.
Membership of a Professional Institute leading to Chartered Status is an advantage
Technologically savvy with an interest in new technologies and R&D
Programming languages knowledge
Previous knowledge and experience in clash detection, 4D, 5D, 6D and CDE
Previous knowledge and experience in MIDP, MPDT, IPD, TIDP, PIP, BIM Protocol, etc.
Previous knowledge and experience of EIR and BEP
