North West - could include UK travel.


An Arboricultural Consultant is required to join the Environmental planning team at a large consultancy on a permanent basis for a huge project.
Your role:
* You will be required to undertake a variety of tree surveys.
* Produce survey reports, impact assessments, method statements and provide recommendations for appropriate risk management of trees.
* Providing regulatory advice to local authorities in respect of Tree Preservation Orders, trees in conservation areas, trees affected by development, Hedgerow Regulations and High Hedge complaints.
* Provide advice and technical input as requested to contribute to the success of a variety of projects.
* You will need to demonstrate an ability to manage your own workload
* Provide advice, information and assistance on a range of arboricultural matters directly to clients or to colleagues
* Carry out tree risk management surveys and prepare reports and recommendations for remedial works and appropriate management, providing cost estimates and work programme schedules as required
* Carry out BS5837 compliant tree surveys for a range of internal and external clients, providing reports, impact assessments and method statements as required
* Carry out objective assessments as to whether trees should be protected by a Tree Preservation Order
* To take a responsible approach to health and safety and risk assessment in accordance with company policies and procedures

Your essential requirements:
* Arboricultural qualification - Qualified to QCF Level 3
* Experience of carrying out development site and tree risk management surveys.
* Thorough knowledge of tree biology, tree identification and tree pests, diseases and disorders;
* Experience in tree hazard evaluation and tree risk management
* Technician Membership of the Arboricultural Association or equivalent
* Experience of tree surveying and digital data collection
* Good working knowledge of arboricultural and relevant planning legislation
* Excellent report writing, communication and IT skills
* Fitness level appropriate for the work to be carried out
* Driving Licence
* Willingness to carry out surveys that will at times be away from the office base
* Knowledge in the use of GIS/AutoCAD.


This role will involve travelling around to different locations and will require you to commute to your nearest office as required.
This is working for a huge organisation who has a variety of offices based across the UK meaning you would be able to choose your closest office when required. They are working on some enormous projects including some of the most exciting major infrastructure projects in Europe, including HS2 Phase 2 and the Oosterwelt Link Immersed Tube Tunnel in Belgium. So it is a very exciting time to join.
