Joiner/ Carpenter/ Maintenance Operative/ Handyperson/ Plumber (Permanent)

Job Title: Joiner / Carpenter

Location: Thornton, Lancashire

Salary: £14 to £16 per hour depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

• The Company provides support to a select group of the UK's largest facilities maintenance companies, who in turn manage and maintain buildings and infrastructure for end user accounts within government and institutions across the UK. Such end user accounts include Hewlett Packard, Barclays, Alstom, Capgemini, Portakabin and many more.
• They provide a range of building fabric and technical services, which can form any part of a maintenance item or full project turnkey solutions. Their FM support services are backed up by full project management capability. Their clients access their services on a completely flexible basis, often complimenting their existing resources at site level.

This job role is 5 days per week. Start time and finishing times will be 8.00 am to 5.00 pm but flexible according to business needs. Will be required to work weekends and away on occasions.

Key Responsibilities:

Joinery

• General Multi-skilled person
• Hanging doors, skirting boards and architrave.
• Partitions - Dry lining to build & finish ready for painting
• Cladding
• Steel Buildings. Steel sheeting, single skin or insulated.
• B.Plas Whiterock. PVC sheeting for kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms
• Ceilings - Grid Type suspended ceilings

Plumbing

• Basic sink/toilet to remove and replace
• Shower trays to remove and replace

Key Requirements:

• CSCS (cards)
• MEWP - IPAF
• Scaffold (Ali Tower) - IPAF
• SMSTS
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Methodical and thorough approach to work
• A great team player
• A desire to show initiative
• Used to a fast paced building environment
