Company Overview:

The Company is a UK-based company with subsidiary operations in the USA, France, Germany and China. They supply materials which are used for research, development and specialised manufacturing applications.

The marketing function is a small but integral part of the company. The SEO/Webmaster will support the Marketing department. This work will be a critical factor for the smooth operation of the Marketing department and the attainment of its strategic goals globally, as well as for the long-term growth of the company.

While the role is part of the marketing team you will predominantly be supporting them so you will need to have significant IT skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing websites across browsers, operating systems and devices (including mobile devices)
  • Ensuring functionality and efficiency of sites and web servers
  • Working with the existing Webmaster (part time)
  • Working and liaising with third party ERP providers regarding technical aspects of the website
  • Ensuring functional and easy-to-use websites
  • Optimising loading speeds and capacity
  • Debugging pages and fix broken links or images
  • Updating website content and review SEO
  • Monitoring and analysing site performance (e.g. traffic, conversions)
  • Monitoring campaigns, results and analytics history
  • Addressing user comments for website usage.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Webmaster, gained in web marketing or within a marketing department, which needs to include content writing skills and the ability to extract key technical content.
  • Good working knowledge of web analytics and SEO, specifically Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with web standards
  • Working knowledge of website management tools
  • Knowledge of graphic design (aspect ratios, resolutions, tag management etc) would be useful
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, XML; SQL and Javascript would be useful
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills - to be able to communicate content with both technical and non-technical web visitors
  • Attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Design or a related field is preferred

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week worked at agreed times between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, although the company does operate a flexitime system. Travelling in the UK and abroad will be part of the role as will working outside of business hours for travel. Some remote working will be considered. Salary will be by negotiation according to training and experience.
