Job Description - Fire Risk Assessor
* Identify and evaluate fire hazards
* Conduct and produce Facility Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Strategies
* Produce and Review Fire & Explosion Safety documentation and reports
* Review of Fire Safety Strategies and Technical Fire Safety Specifications for new building designs and refurbishments
* Provide Technical Fire Safety support work
* Liaise with insurers and Regulatory Authorities on fire safety matters
* Undertake any other Fire Safety duties required by the Fire Safety Team Lead in order to deliver to plans
Responsibilities
* Production of suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments using an established risk assessment template and leading in the creation of fire safety strategy documents
* Provide comments on existing and draft fire safety strategies and fire safety submissions to support design stages
* Identify appropriate preventative and protective fire safety measures
* Provide Fire Safety Reports where required to support site management arrangements
* Support facility owners with the application of fire hazard control measures
The Individual:
* Fire safety engineering experience
* Experience of applying PAS 79, BS9999 and ADB.
* Experience of authoring Fire safety strategy reports
* Fire Risk Assessment authoring experience over a variety of building occupancy types
* Passive fire protection knowledge and experience of assessing installations
* Active fire systems knowledge of detection and suppression systems
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* Effective communication skills
* Skilled in the use of standard Microsoft packages
* Degree in Fire Safety (preferred but not essential)
