My client, a well known and iconic local organisation is currently recruiting for a Business Development manager to continue their growth and long term success.

The Business Development Manager will be required to work closely with our Commercial and Catering team and will need to have a thorough understanding of the processes & procedures involved.

They will be responsible for revenue generation through new business acquisition by prospecting, qualifying and developing new business over the telephone and face-to-face.

The successful candidate will need to have strong organisation skills, absolute attention to detail and be able to deliver great customer service.

Ideally the successful candidate will come from a sports or events background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and organising appointments to generate new business for the company
  • Generate income through player sponsorship, advertising space hospitality packages.
  • Work alongside the Ticket & Membership Manager & Internal Sales Manager to create plans for the future.
  • Identify and establish new income streams through sponsorship and advertising channels, working alongside the Marketing Manager.
  • Develop relationships with all current sponsors, box holders and local businesses.
  • Pro-actively go out and seek new business.
  • Proactively lead on innovative operations to ensure we are always ahead of the curve
  • Work with the Commercial/Events Management Team to improve Membership Department processes and the service to Members
  • To ensure all calls are handled in a professional manner in line with the ethos of the business

Skills & Experience Required

  • Ideally, previous experience in working with customers in a sporting and events arena.
  • Competent with Microsoft packages - advanced Excel skills would be extremely useful in this position
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extremely motivated and passionate.
  • Eager to please and with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised, efficient and a structured thinker
  • Team player with the ability to work with varied stakeholders
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.
