A great opportunity has become available for a reliable and skilled Electrical Technician to join a regional company recognised for developing and training its staff to succeed in their roles. As this position is working for our Horsham District Council, we are looking for candidates who are based locally.

Your new role

Mountjoy Ltd has been awarded a contract to provide Reactive Maintenance and PPM to buildings in the Horsham area. The Contract for Horsham District Council encompasses 156 properties of which 65 are temporary housing.  The remaining properties consist of offices, commercial buildings, libraries, museums, parks, car parks, public toilets etc. 

Joining our team as a Eletrical Technician, you will need to have an open and positive attitude, be a team player and be able to embrace and work in new ways to improve yourself, the team and service to the client. When dealing with customers, client representatives or peers and team members you will be professional at all times and demonstrate high standards of customer service and care.

The key activities you will undertake as an Electrical Technician will be:

• Testing of Emergency Lighting
• Fire Alarm Weekly Tests
• Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing in commercial and domestic premises
• Scouting and Reporting of Street lighting
• Maintenance of UPS and Generators and connected circuits including load testing
• Fault finding and diagnosis
• Electrical repairs and maintenance to the current IEE Regulations
• Minor electrical alterations and installation
• Any other related tasks within area of competence

The Required Qualifications for the Role of Electrical Technician:

• REQUIRED: City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition Electrical Regulations
• City & Guilds / BTEC National Diploma / NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant Electrical discipline
• REQUIRED: City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent
• 18th Edition Electrical Regulations – working knowledge desirable
• NVQ 3 in electrical installation or equivalent
• Full current driving licence.
• A DBS check is required before commencement of role
• PASMA / IPAF (Desirable) 
• Proven experience of working in Property Maintenance environment.
