Underwriter (Ongoing Contract)
We have an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team based in Denbighshire. You will be responsible for judging and processing financial applications and if they will be accepted. You will also decide the terms and conditions of the insurance by assessing the probability of a claim being made in line with the companies polices.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing background information on the client
- Studying insurance proposals
- Calculating the risk
- Deciding how much should be paid out
- Liaising with professionals and specialists to help judge risk assessments
- Selecting appropriate and competitive premiums based on information and judgement
- Writing policies and adding specific conditions when required
- Deciding whether the risk should be shared with a re-insurer
- Negotiating terms
This role requires someone to have a proactive work approach and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Proven EXPERIENCE in a similar post is ESSENTIAL for this role!!
Full-time Monday to Friday, office hours. For the right candidate this role could go perm after 6 months.
