ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Location - Bristol

Contract - Permanent

This role is accountable to the Engineering Programme manager for technical inputs and guidance on Synthetic Training Solutions to the Ascent UKMFTS programmes including:

Requirements definition and assessment of bidders' synthetic training solutions associated with UKMFTS training needs.
Work with the UKMFTS programme teams including Customers, Partners and Suppliers to ensure that the synthetic training solutions as/to be procured technically satisfy the programme needs.
Ensure that requirements for synthetic training solutions are being complied with during the requirements capture, development, manufacturing and test cycles of Ground Based Training Equipment (GBTE) production through to service operation.
Work with the suppliers to resolve any technical challenges faced with the production of the new solutions.
Help ensure that the solutions integrate with the appropriate training services provided under UKMFTS.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of synthetic training developments across the Industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
Experience in a systems engineering background in an aviation-related GBTE discipline and have been involved with a range of requirements capture, multiple systems designs, implementation and setting to work of GBTE solutions.
Have a working knowledge of requirements capture, implementation and compliance demonstration processes.
Be educated to degree level/HNC level in a related engineering discipline or an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline.
Desirable:
Ideally have relevant Project Management of GBTE projects both in direct procurement contracts and under PFI/PPP auspices.
Ideally have a relevant aviation-related qualification or aviation background.
