Job Title: ICT Application Support Officer

Salary: £28,785 to £32,878 per annum

Job type: Full time (37 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Business Transformation Department for a dynamic and resourceful ICT Application Support Officer to support the delivery of ICT Services at the Councils.

The Role:

Working across both Councils you will be expected to ensure that the Business Applications, supported by ICT, are available to the departments and working correctly enabling council services to be delivered successfully. Should the Business Application fail at any time you will work to resolve the problem as soon as possible and action any options available through external support contracts.

The shared ICT team are currently involved in the implementation and support of a number of exciting projects using leading edge technologies.

Key Requirements:

• Understanding of how business applications exchange information is achieved
• Able to develop and support these processes is vital
• Detailed understanding of the services areas
• Able to plan, organise and manage priorities
• Excellent analytical skills
• Able to present complex information to a wide range of audiences both verbally and in writing

As such there is a Cabinet Office requirement to be validated to the Baseline Security Standard (BPSS). The BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information. This includes identity check, national and immigration status, employment history (3 years) and verification of criminal record (unspent convictions only). Therefore, a basic Scottish Disclosure is needed for this post.
