Overview

This exciting opportunity has come up with a globally recognised business, operating in 9 locations across Europe, Asia and the USA. Supplying into sectors such as automotive, engineering, technology, banking & finance, professional services, health & beauty, FMCG & drinks and charity. The role will see you embedded within the product development process, working cross functionally with buying, sales & operations teams, to ensure that all products are risk assessed to identify key controls needed during both the development stage and during production supporting the group quality & compliance manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting all activities to assure the product quality for all items sourced
  • Support in the development and maintenance of product quality specifications for products sourced
  • Reviewing of inspection reports (3rd Party & In-House) to assist buying team in making decisions on product release & on occasion undertaking product inspections.
  • Supporting product risk assessments (Panel tests) to ensure that all aspects of risk are considered (product, vendor etc.) so that action plans can be developed to ensure that products are robustly tested and evaluated prior to production start and during production.
  • Supporting in the review of 3rd party risk assessments along with the buying team to ensure that all risks are considered and actions are taken in the project team to mitigate risks, where possible.
  • Supporting a final review of the product along with the buying team prior to PO placement to ensure that all risks are considered and actioned.
  • Offering advice and support throughout product development and production to ensure that products manufactured are fit for purpose and to the correct quality level.
  • Supporting in the investigations when complaints are received to ensure that root cause is understood and actions taken to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Writing corrective action reports and ensuring that complaints are logged and followed up as required
  • Supporting to ensure that all products sourced are compliant through liaison with 3rd party test laboratories, you will support the buying team during product development to ensure that all products are tested as required.
  • Support in the ongoing maintenance and up-keep of the Product Testing Manual

The Individual

  • Ideally will be degree qualified / HND / HNC or solid working experience in quality role
  • Should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with a strong background in product quality.
  • Experience of production environments through either vendor assessment or working with vendors during the product development process.
  • Fully PC literate
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Pragmatic approach to working and problem solving
  • Fast learner & adaptable
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience in working with a Quality Management System
