We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join the Energy Business Unit at Tata Chemicals Europe. Energy and sustainability considerations are essential within modern manufacturing and so the Energy Business at Tata Chemicals Europe manage the day-to-day running of a highly efficient CHP whilst supporting the rest of the business in implementing forward thinking initiatives, in these areas.

You would join Tata Chemicals Europe as we embark on a period of major strategic investment across the business. Specific to the Energy Business Unit and it's 5-year plan, the development of a Carbon Capture and Utilisation plant which will be the largest of its kind in the UK. As a member of the team, you would play a dynamic role in supporting the development and implementation of this plan whilst being encouraged to seek out new improvements and areas of growth.

The role's key accountabilities include the careful monitoring and improvement of all aspects of plant performance and as such you will work very closely with other EBU team members, third party contractors and wider Tata colleagues.

Key accountabilities include:

Engineering - Using core Chemical Engineering to develop projects in the following areas: energy efficiency, re-configuration of our Industrial CHP plant or in environmental improvement.

Energy modelling - The role is responsible for modelling the economic impact of different operating scenarios, configuration and waste minimisation/revenue maximisation.

Collaborating with our technical manager - Provide process engineering and plant operation input, in relation to the operation and maintenance of Winnington CHP.

The team engage in a wide range of activities beyond engineering fundamentals, including: contract management, market monitoring and business development. Required
Chemical Engineering degree and 3-5 years of experience in Chemical Engineering

Desirable
Power station or CHP knowledge
Understanding of energy systems
Experience of continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma/Process improvement)
