Instruction Writer (Contract)

The Role

We are seeking to recruit an additional Instruction Writer to work with our existing Technical Publications team to ensure we continue to keep pace with the instruction requirements of our ever increasing and diverse range of products.

Your responsibilities as an Instruction Writer will include but may not be limited to:

• Initiate new instructions from the current instruction task list.
• Receive instruction writing tasks from a variety of internal sources.
• Compile instructions based on supplier instructions, encompassing your own knowledge and experience.
• Proof reading instructions from other Instruction Writers.
• Liaise with the Technical Compliance, Parts Department and Quality Control Workshop Engineers when compiling and finalising instructions for print or onward delivery.

The Ideal Instruction Writer:

The perfect Instruction Writer will have good general knowledge and understanding of hand tools, and electrical and mechanical tools and equipment.  They must have excellent writing and communication skills. You will also need:

• The ability to work on several projects without direct supervision.
• To be highly organised, with the ability to work to deadlines while still maintaining attention to detail.
• A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• A background or interest in a mechanical, electrical or automotive field.
• Knowledge and experience of “InDesign” would be an advantage, although not essential.
