Job Summary:

The Head of Product is accountable for the design and delivery of strategic improvements to their gaming products, platforms and customer propositions. You are responsible for end to end product delivery starting with market analysis and ending with developed products that meet their customer's needs and deliver revenue growth.

You're responsible for ensuring that their products are market leading in all of their operating sectors. This role combines delivering results through the product team and also working with other senior members of the business to ensure that solutions are developed.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Ensure that the Product Team delivers on time and to the required quality standards
  • Coach team members to assist in their professional development and deliver improved outputs
  • Work with other senior colleagues to ensure that the Product team contribute as part of the wider corporate team and add value to work delivered by other teams

Product Strategy

  • Contribute to the creation, delivery and evolution of their corporate product strategy
  • Champion the product vision, help to engage the wider business teams and encourage contribution to new product development
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in both what they deliver and how they deliver it

Proposition and Solution Design

  • Combine market intelligence, financial and behavioural data, customer requirements and other relevant items to design a roadmap that meets the needs of each product sector
  • Ensure that Product Owners have assessed all options and have agreed solutions that deliver value for both them and their customers
  • Lead communication with internal teams
  • Improve how the Product team works by assessing process and outcomes and delivering targeted changes to drive quality and innovation improvements

Product Delivery

  • Continuously review team ways of working to ensure high quality standards are embedded in all processes
  • Act as main point of day to day contact with 3rd party development teams to drive maximum benefit from the relationship (including escalations, issue management and prioritisation)
  • Ensure that each product owner in the team maintains a suitable product backlog for their sector and carries out prioritisation in conjunction with the commercial teams

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Product delivery/owner/manager experience for multiple products - preferably across more than one industry
  • Solid and repeatedly demonstrated problem solving abilities and evidence of use analytical skills to determine future actions and assess past decisions
  • Experience operating within Agile and waterfall environments
  • Evidence of creation of commercial business cases and using this to help prioritise product development decisions
  • Experience of communicating and engaging senior commercial stakeholders as part of a product development process
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business and with external teams
  • Significant experience (multiple projects) of leading meetings and ensuring that stakeholders are able to contribute to projects
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders to deliver quality product development whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision to deliver high quality work in a timely manner
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, Visio)
  • Experience of working in a B2B environment and of working with account teams and end customers

Desirable:

  • Experience of taking multiple products from concept through to delivery - particularly the commercial elements
  • Pricing and commercial management experience
  • Experience of working with external development teams
  • Formal Product Management qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential
  • Gaming or Leisure product background

  • Strong communicator
  • Must be able to drive teams to deliver targets
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality
  • Confident and able to speak out against the crowd and support their opinions with strong reasoning, analysis and evidence
  • Passionate about improving both what their team does and how they do it
  • High levels of attention to detail are required as the role is accountable for end results and must get the small things right
  • Able to think on the go and adapt quickly to changing demands
  • Will be required to develop and coach team and therefore must be able to work with junior team members to set development plans and monitor progress
