Are you dynamic, customer focused and great at problem solving? Are you an experienced Collections & Litigation Advisor, looking for the next step in your career?

It is essential you have Collections or litigation experience to be considered.

We are looking for a resilient, determined and dynamic individual to join a great team, offering the best solutions to customers who have reached the end of their mortgage term but still have an outstanding balance, whilst at the same time delivering exceptional customer service.

If you think that you meet this criteria, a position has become available for an experienced telephone-based Collections and Litigation Advisor to join our Customer Support Team working at our office in Watford, just 1 minutes’ walk from Watford Junction Station.

In return, we offer an excellent basic salary, plus company pension and private healthcare schemes along with a great working environment and fantastic team culture.

Collections and Litigation Advisor Responsibilities:

Joining the team, you will assume responsibility for both secured term expired and unsecured recoveries accounts so experience of unsecured collections and litigation is essential.  Secured collections experience would be advantageous but is not essential.  You will drive reductions in these portfolios and be responsible for the effective collections strategy. You will also:

  • Proactively contact clients to discuss their outstanding mortgage balances.
  • Proactively manage accounts and customer correspondence.
  • Respond to various types of incoming client contact including telephone calls, emails letters and SMS, and to respond to that contact within agreed Service Standards.
  • Negotiate specific treatments for clients and to ensure the type of treatment negotiated is relevant to the particular customer’s account.
  • Identify and assess potentially vulnerable clients to ensure they are treated in accordance with regulation and policy.
  • Liaise with various third parties throughout the arrears management process.
  • Be responsible for administering expired accounts through the repossession and litigation process in accordance with the policy and procedures in place.
  • Ensure all systems and tracing processes are utilised and updated accurately and in a timely fashion with actions and contacts with customer(s) and third parties.
  • Provide customer support and guidance to any clients requiring assistance during the life of their mortgage agreement.

The ideal Collections and Litigation Advisor:

  • Good standard of secondary education with at least C-grades in Maths and English together with higher levels of education.
  • Experience of collections or arrears management and litigation procedures within a secured and unsecured regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience of managing a database of term expired and unsecured recoveries accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Experience of identifying and assessing vulnerable clients.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with customers via all channels.
  • Strong awareness of financial services and our specific sector, including compliance with relevant FCA regulation.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to ensure the completion of work within company deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential, whilst also maintaining high levels of productivity.
  • A team player who is enthusiastic, positive, adaptable and proactive.
