Remote DevOps Engineer required for a new age money lending platform, which helps connect people that want to invest their money with sensible borrowers who want to get a better rate on their personal loans.

The role will be based remote initially due to current circumstances and then 2-3 days remote thereafter.

Rather than focusing exclusively on profits, the company focus on being fair, transparent and honest. These values often differ from most lenders, as the ethos is defiantly the customer comes first.
Since launching in, the company matched more than £200m of loans, and forecasting to surpass £1bn of loans per annum in the next two years.

Job description

This candidate will be a DevOps/Site-Reliability Engineer responsible for managing the infrastructure team, which hosts the financial core and microservice-based ecosystem.
You will be required to mentor your co-workers and drive assigned projects; therefore, an understanding of backend technologies is also necessary.

Responsibilities
* Building reusable code and libraries for future use
* Implementation of security and data protection best practices
* Design and implementation of data storage solutions
* Development and maintenance of Kubernetes-based applications, the majority of our platform runs in Kubernetes
* Architecture and maintenance of systems on AWS following AWS best practices via Terraform
* Management of the various CI/CD pipelines

Skills & Requirements
* Excellent experience defining and provisioning infrastructure using a high-level configuration language, specifically Terraform
* Excellent experience setting up and working with AWS (Amazon Web Services) based infrastructure
* Experience with Python scripting
* Excellent experience provisioning and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
* Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, specifically with Jenkins

Nice to have
* Experience managing Windows-based systems
* Understanding of Design Patterns
* Excellent experience designing JSON-based REST APIs
* Database administration experience with Postgres and/or MySQL
* Experience developing build pipelines for JavaScript code using Webpack
