We are set to open the UK’s largest multi polymer plastic recycling plant in Avonmouth near Bristol and are looking for 4 Maintenance Supervisors (Shift Engineers) to join our growing team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, to include nights.

Our new world class facility is expected to process 81,000 tonnes of PET, HDPE and PP plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays in its first year of operation, rising to 89,000 tonnes in year three. This will produce 60,000 tonnes of recycled plastic in year one, rising to 63,000 tonnes in year three.

Working in partnership with the Production Team, our Maintenance Supervisors’ will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of day to day site maintenance, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner to the required standard with production downtime minimised. Providing engineering expertise as required, with the ability to communicate relevant information at all levels as well as making recommendations and influencing decision making will be an important part of this role.

Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our Maintenance Supervisors will work within the guidelines of WorkSmart strategy, Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, Site Permit and other statutory regulations and ensure that the Maintenance Team remain compliant at all times.

With responsibility for the newly formed maintenance team, our Maintenance Supervisors are a key part of our business. They demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate their team to ensure engineering standards are maintained and that our maintenance strategy is delivered effectively.

The ideal Maintenance Supervisor will have:

  • A background in a process, production or manufacturing environment, as well as the relevant engineering experience
  • Completed apprenticeship (NVQ level 3) in an appropriate engineering skill or possession of a HNC/HND in a relevant discipline
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems (such as HolisTech, SAP, Maximo etc), purpose and functionality, electrical/mechanical systems and safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy skills and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, with the ability to analyse data and produce detailed reports
  • A good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring
  • Full driving license.
