I am currently delighted to be working in partnership with a leading health-care organisation in Solihull, after restructure and expansion we are searching for a capable and diligent governance manager.

Purpose

You will be accountable for ensuring the smooth and effective running of the organisation ensuring that all aspects are operating efficiently. You will be accountable for assessing, monitoring and ensuring health and safety, infection control and other governance and compliance policies and procedures are adhered to at site and that all information is collected, stored and analysed in a timely fashion.

Ensure that all environments within the site including patient waiting areas, clinical rooms and non-patient facing areas are well maintained and organised effectively. Deliver a safe and effective and service. Oversee and accountable for any complaints or concerns raised by patients, staff or the public in relation to all sites, addressing or escalating them as appropriate via the support team.

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible on a day to day basis for the Governance Programme and action plans in line with company strategy, policies and requirements to meet company standards.
  • Hold responsibility for the management of the Clinical Governance system
  • Create and maintain a policy register and ensure the review all policies and update as necessary
  • Promoting and facilitating the development of effective integrated governance risk management and assurance within the organisations practices.
  • Provide advice and contribute to solutions in relation to integrated governance.
  • Responsible for ensuring all information processed for patients and staff is kept confidential, accurate and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation and Caldicott policy.
  • Manage, monitor and keep updated risk register.
  • Collate practices all data in regard to Core Quality Markers and produce quality management reports for presentation to the board.
  • Liaise with Data Protection Officer for all practices, offering support and guidance on the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Investigate and analyse incidents
  • Support the operational team with responses to complaints
  • Maintain a record of complaints and submit complaints reports as required.
  • As directed, assist with periodic audits and inspections.
  • Produce reports, findings and action plans of audits and inspections.
  • Assist in communicating shared learning of all adverse incidents and events.
  • Support of the annual Data Protection and Security Toolkit return, regularly liaising with Leads as required.
  • Oversee that all Infection Prevention and Control measures are adhered to and monitoring undertaken in line with organisational schedules, acting to address issues immediately.
  • Implement crisis management plans in the result of disruption to service

Skills & knowledge required

  • Proficient in MS applications including Outlook, Excel, Word and other related software packages
  • Experienced with System One.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety Management.
  • Basic knowledge of CQC and requirements in General Practice
  • Basic knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to deal with difficult situations and challenging behaviour
  • Logical and systematic in work processes.
  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the primary care environment, with specific reference to General Practice.
