Warehouse Operative - Baggage Handler (Contract)
Minimum 30 hours per week £8.80 per hour rising to £9.23 after 12 weeks On-going contract 24 hour shift pattern including nights. Must have a full driving license
Duties:
- Load and unload aircraft luggage weighing up to 32 Kilos
- Be able to work in confined spaces and from heights
- Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times
- Monitor Customer safety during boarding/offloading of aircraft and assist customers where necessary
- Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)
- Transfer of baggage
- Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks
- Comply with all safety procedures and Station Policies
- Assist in ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggage communicate with Operations, Flight Crew personnel and other ground personnel
Career Progression
You will commence the role as a Grade 1 Agent; after successful completion of 12 months service, subject to passing the probationary period and demonstrating competence in all basic and intermediate tasks, you will become a Grade 2 employee. Following a further period of development and subject to job vacancies arising you will have the opportunity to apply for other positions/promotions. COMPANY TRAINING MODULES (to include)

Candidates Must:
- Provide a full 5 year checkable history on registration
- Provide a basic Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record Check (Cost of which to be met by candidate)
- Have no criminal record, or any unspent convictions
- Be willing to work all assigned shifts covering a 24 hour operation, including weekends and bank holidays
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK/EU drivers licence
- Have current and valid photo ID
- A maximum commute of 45 minutes to Stansted Airport at the time of application
