I am working with a client in the Tredegar area who is seeking a compliance officer to work alongside the head of compliance, in an ambitious family run company.

This business specialises in high risk lending across a number of product lines such as consumer credit and car finance, and is governed by FCA Regulation and Data Protection Legislation, so experience within this industry is highly desirable. You will receive regular training and ups-killing and will have exposure to the business and stakeholders.

Your duties as a compliance officer

  • To be responsible for production of routine compliance & audit reports, as designated by the HoC

  • To assist the HoC/Senior Management team in addressing findings from compliance monitoring reviews, audit programmes, complaints root cause analysis and other review/reporting mechanisms
  • To assist with recording and monitoring of complaints, in accordance with FCA rules
  • To investigate, liaise with key staff and produce draft written responses to designated categories of complaints
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and implement practical, compliant solutions in consultation with HoC and appropriate Director/s.
  • Liaises with all staff and managers to improve understanding of compliance processes, develop strong working relationships and embodiment of TCF
  • Work with agents/brokers to ensure compliance with FCA requirements

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Experience within an FCA regulated environment in a risk/compliance role, or experience of consumer credit/mortgages in a regulated environment
  • Experience and knowledge of FCA Regulation & Data Protection Legislation
  • Degree and/or other appropriate professional qualification
  • Ability to write clear and concise records.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver simultaneous, time pressured tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of staff
