NDI Bay Supervisor (Permanent)
NDI BAY SUPERVISOR
The Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Bay Supervisor will report to the mechanical workshop controller and be an experienced and skilled tradesman/supervisor, undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities autonomously on aircraft and in the Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Bay. They will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on the Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Bay activities.
The post holder should be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Undertake detailed NDI inspection activities on Aircraft/ Ground Support Equipment components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information and approved data
Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities in Non-Destructive Inspection testing which may include component inspections
Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately
Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them. Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements
Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to management
Provides guidance and leadership to the team. Develops team members using formal assessment processes, e.g. Performance Reviews, supports and sponsors training requests including 'on the job training'. Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication and people management skills in order to exchange complicated information.
Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with QAF requirements
Undertake support tasks within the Non-Destructive Inspection Bay facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment)
Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance
* NDI EN4179/NAS 410 (Level 2) qualifications on Penetrant Flaw Detection (PT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT), Eddy Current Inspection (ET), Ultrasonic Inspection (UT) & Radiographic Inspection (RT) & required experience hours for each discipline.
* Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
