Catering Assistant (Part Time)

We are now looking to add a motivated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to the team in Boreham. This is a part time role for 16 hours per week plus covering team members annual leave. The shift pattern for this position is as follows:

Mondays: 09:00 – 13:00
Tuesdays: 10:00 – 13:00
Wednesday: 10:00 – 13:00
Thursday: 10:00 – 13:00
Fridays: 10:00 – 13:00

The Role

The Catering Assistant will assist the Catering Supervisor, in providing catering for the facility, staff, customers, clients and training school attendees. You will also be responsible for:

• Delivering an efficient and effective service to all customers.
• Designing and preparing the weekly soup and specials menu.
• Sandwich, snack and buffet preparation.
• Maintaining stock levels on Salad Bar.
• Ensuring that all sales are recorded in the cash register at time of purchase and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Performing general cleaning duties and ensure that all areas meet with current hygiene and safety standards.
• Menu design for buffets and small functions.

• Needs to be well organised
• Flexible and reliable
• Plenty of enthusiasm and commitment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Hold current Food Hygiene Certificate
• Good oral communication and interpersonal skills
