Having offices in London, Berlin and the US, my client is a Medical Communications agency with a global vision

They work with some of the world's largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices companies to develop creative solutions that inspire change, influence clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.

This is a key role within the team, helping them grow to support their expanding business.

This role is perfect for a Senior Medical Writer/Scientific Writer who has managerial experience and looking for a step-up.

You will take on responsibility for the end-to-end management of medical communications projects in one or more therapeutic areas, with a focus on cardiology.

You will have 5 direct reports and 2 indirect so I really need someone who has been managing people in the past.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of medical writers to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality materials, incorporating regular performance and development review.
  • Having an in-depth understanding of several therapeutic areas, and offering scientific leadership and support for members of the content team.
  • Coordination with the account management team for messaging/compliance sign off.
  • Coordination of budgets and timelines with the account management team.
  • Strategic content input during client interactions.
  • Representing the company at events and client meetings.
  • Scheduling work with Creative and Digital teams.
  • Managing resourcing and training requirements both within the team and, with the other Scientific Team Leaders, across teams.
  • Communicating effectively with all departments and senior management, and proactively seeking ways to improve efficiency or quality to achieve team goals.
  • Providing input to project proposals and attending pitches as required to secure new business and grow existing accounts.
