Underwriter (Permanent)

Junior Underwriter (Commercial), Kent. £competitive salary plus excellent benefits, training and development.

Working for a well established insurance operation based across the UK and Europe, you will be a key member of the underwriting team, assisting with the ongoing development of the commercial portfolio through existing and new broker relationships.

You will be responsible for underwriting profitable business on a case-by-case basis in line with the companies strategy and objectives.
Dealing with new and renewal, commercial business within your own underwriting criteria/authority.
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with intermediaries.
Work with the Business Development team to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with regional brokers.
Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
Provide support and act as a referral point to other members of the team.

To apply;
Previous experience in a similar underwriting role a distinct advantage.
Previous insurance experience is a must.
Experience in building and maintaining of internal and external relationships.
The ability to demonstrate meeting and exceeding personal objectives and targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
Driven, self-motivated and career minded.
