IT Support Technician (Permanent)

Acorn Recruitment is seeking, an experienced IT Support Technician for their manufacturing client based in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. The salary for this role is £25,000 pa.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

* To record, diagnose and resolve/escalate IT faults and incidents, utilising the help desk system.
* To set up, install and maintain all PC/Server/Network hardware and software.
* To ensure that all operational systems are functioning effectively, properly utilising and updating procedures.
* To provide support for telephone systems to ensure effective communications and call centres.
* To provide out of hours support to critical business activities on a rota basis.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR ROLE

Essential:

Experience of supporting and developing PC LAN based networks together with experience of Windows (Server and Workstation), and Active Directory.

* Hands-on break fix skills with IT hardware and cabling
* Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive problem solving skills
* Good organisational skills
* Strong attention to detail

Desirable:

Significant experience of 2nd and 3rd line technical support.
Knowledge of the following:

* ITIL process knowledge
* Printer Hardware troubleshooting
* Microsoft Office Suite
* Google Apps platform
* AWS Cloud Hosting concepts
* McAfee Endpoint Protection and Encryption
* Alcatel Omni PCX Enterprise telephone system
* VMware Virtual platforms
* IBM AS400 operations
* VPN / mobility solutions
* Cisco networking command line operations
* Solarwinds Networking and Server modules
* Mobile phone operating systems (Android and iOS)
