The Company is a fourth-generation family business that has been at the forefront of the timber industry for over 90 years. Operating on the global stage, they supply machines to a wide variety of customers from furniture makers to house builders from their headquarters in Kirkby.

The Role:

They're looking for a motivated person to join the spare parts department as a trainee spare parts co-ordinator. They supply woodworking machinery all over the world and a key part of the service to customers is that they can supply them with replacement parts for their machines as required. These parts need to be identified from either photos or technical drawings, sourced from a variety of worldwide suppliers and then sold to customers.

Working within the spare parts department you would learn a number of tasks that include, but are not limited to:

• Speaking to customers and suppliers by phone and email
• Packing goods and preparing shipping paperwork
• Preparing invoices using Sage 200 accounting software
• Selling items on Ebay
• Identifying spare parts on technical drawings
• Learning about woodworking machinery and tooling from engineers, salesmen and other members of staff

About you:

• 5 or more GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths
• A desire to learn new skills
• A good team player
• Good communication skills for dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues
• Confident at using standard IT equipment, training will be provided for specialist software

As a training position the salary for this role will initially be minimum wage, but they do expect career progression which would be reflected in the pay rate.
