External Communications Consultant (Contract)

Randstad are looking for an experienced External Communications professional to join a leading business based in the Chelmsford, Essex area who have an immediate requirement for an External Communications Consultant, initially for a 6 month temp contract.

The main purpose of the External Communications role is to plan, co-ordinate and deliver integrated creative communications across the disciplines of public relations, media, partnerships and public affairs. Also ensure all communications activity reflects business objectives and core values.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

* Plan and deliver creative integrated communications campaigns for all allocated projects and partnerships to maximise engagement with target audiences
* Actively research, write and promote pro-active news stories, producing media releases, media briefings and managing media events by maintaining key regional media relationships.
* Receive and respond to media enquiries
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activity and make recommendations for improvements.
* Generate and edit engaging content for a range of communication channels including; film, digital and social media
* Identify and build relationships with key regional stakeholder communications, including local councillors and MPs.

Skills and experience required for the role:

* Proven Communications experience, working in a similar role
* Ability to identify new external communications opportunities, managing them through to implementation
* Experience of monitoring the successes of communications activity and
recommends improvements
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
