We are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to work in a busy and faced paced customer service department. The successful candidate will have a logistics background ideally within chemical freight and experience managing customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and developing specific customer accounts to ensure a smooth and efficient service to the customers 24/7
• Develop a strong relationship with key individuals for each of these customer accounts
• Work closely with other logistics teams
• Ensure the customer's expectations are fully met or even exceeded
• Coordinate cargo and shipping bookings
• Provide support to the Sales and Accounts team
• Prepare information for rates and quotes
• Monitor carrier performance
• Identification and speedy escalation of issues impacting customer service, cash or operating performance levels
• Preparation and submission of Chamber Certified / Legalised documents
• Preparation of customs documentation
• Close liaison with shipping lines to produce correct bills of lading and documentation in accordance with customer and / or letter of credit requirements and in line with customer specific agreed service levels
• The making of export customs entries via the ICE system

Skills and Experience

• Previous freight forwarding, logistics or shipping experience
• Previous experience of customs documentation and clearance
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Knowledge of Tachograph and European regulations
• Previous experience of working towards KPI's
• Excellent influencing skills and the ability to manage customer expectations
• Financial awareness
• Excellent planning skills
• Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
• Ability to work to a structured price guide
• Time Critical experience booking dedicated charter, sea & air freight
• Experience of working within the chemical, hazardous and ADR sector (desirable)
• Fluent languages especially Finnish or German (desirable)
