I am looking for a diligent and capable Supply Chain Assistant wanting to work for a growing and well established company in the Midlands.

This role is a brand new role to the business, you will work as part of a small, friendly and supportive team.

  • £23,000 - £25,000 depending on experience
  • 08:30 - 17:00 Mon - Fri
  • Part-time hours also available (30 hours + p/w - salary pro rota)
  • 20 days hol + BH (accrue each year until 23 days)
  • Parking on-site

Responsibilities

You will work with the Supply Manager, to provide administrative support associated with the supply chain from the UK, European and Far East Suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising purchase orders via our computer system, processing with the suppliers and progressing through to receipt of goods
  • Checking order acknowledgements; notifying and resolving queries with suppliers
  • Arranging container shipments from Far East ports. Liaising closely with nominated freight forwarding agents
  • Co-ordinating European supplier deliveries and collections to ensure timely arrival
  • Collating and processing all import documentation
  • Maintaining arrival dates on the computer system for all products, to ensure accuracy of information on stock arrivals and budgeted spend
  • Liaising closely with other departments to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Maintaining information on various Purchasing spreadsheet as necessary
  • Providing assistance to the Supply Manager as required

About you?

  • Have experience in supply chain and freight imports (or similar) from Europe and the Far East
  • Experience dealing with a number of international suppliers
  • Understanding of import documentation
  • You must have excellent attention to detail
  • Have strong administrative experience
  • Well organised, self-motivated and work well under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Confident communicator
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise
