Morson are working with a leading construction agency who are looking to add a Record to Report (RTR) Accountant to their existing team on an interim basis. Our client is implementing a Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) for the UK and Ireland which will become a fundamental building block of their Ten Year Plan. Implementing the SSC will provide the platform for cost savings and on-going performance improvement, including focussed continuous improvement in Finance and related Business processes.
As an R2R Accountant, you will lead all management accounting activity for your allocated busines area, ensuring that accurate and technically robust management accounts are produced in a timely manner and in line with group finance service levels. The service supports all business units across the Uk & Ireland.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting accounting activities relating to the maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger and management accounts.
* Processing of information within the RTR area in line with Group Timetable and SSC SLAs.
* Deliver timely and accurate information to Group Finance, Head of Tax and local Irish Finance team for external and internal reporting.
* Maintains a complete, accurate and up to date fixed asset register and responsible for managing a physical asset verification process at least annually
* Managing the month end close process, ensuring the ledgers are all closed to strict deadlines.
* Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the divisional accounts.
* Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including review and sign off

Skills/ Experience:

* In depth knowledge of general ledger processes
* A background in an industry with complex contractual arrangements
* Accountancy qualification CIMA ACCA ACA Or AAT (Qualified for at least 5 years)
* Knowledge of IFRS15 and FRS102
* Previous experience of RTR, ideally in a shared services environment
* Exposure to VAT returns, PSA returns and completing corporation tax packs
* Excellent/Good bookkeeping and reconciliation skills
* Able to actively engage stakeholders and colleagues to ensure compliance against processes and consistent execution.
* Worked in a large organization
* Very good Microsoft Excel knowledge
* Expertise in project management or management accounting
* Ideally has management experience

This is an interim opportunity for an initial 3 months with a possibility of extension. Our client is open to flexible working for this role. Salary is also flexible
