Senior Electrical and Imstrumentation Engineer (Permanent)
We are recruiting for a Senior E&I Engineer on Medium sized Process, Refinery, or Petrochemical Projects, on a permanent basis/.
Position suits an engineer with strong technical experience, ideally in Electrical Engineering & design, an appreciation of control system engineering and a full understanding/experience of the various scopes of projects of all phases.
Assist the project team in the execution of an Engineering Project. Development of E&I Project deliverables to required quality within agreed time schedule.
Based in Milton Keynes with frequent travel globally.
* Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues. Arrive at sound and prudent decisions, course of action or a conclusion, especially when only limited facts are available.
* Solve problems quickly.
* Responsible for the technical content and the co-ordination of the electrical services for the project to which they have been assigned.
* Capable of providing specialized technical input and assistance to others.
* Able to coordinate technical issues within discipline and with other engineering staff
* Work activities: These include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of engineering activities.
* Engineering Reports are often a work product.
* Develop and/or contribute to the development of project deliverables including:
o Electrical procedures
o Technical specifications
o Conceptual design
o Data sheets
o One-line diagrams
o Purchase requisitions
o Hazardous area drawings
o Preparation of cost estimate input
* At all times ensuring conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
* Required to support procurement and subcontract aspects of projects, with engineering knowledge and experience.
* Experience of developing E & I engineering deliverables and report writing. Should be experienced in FEED and EPC phases of major grassroots oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
* Review Client technical requirements and ensure these are incorporated in EPC Contractor's project related specifications and design drawings.
* Review project deliverables including: -
o C&I procedures
o Technical specifications
o Conceptual design
o Data sheets
o P&IDs
o Purchase requisitions
o Hazardous area drawings
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Typically, has a HNC or bachelor's degree in design/engineering with minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in a design engineering and plant design work environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate previous FEED and EPC experience.
- Has depth and breadth of experience in the design from first principles of the electrical infrastructure associated with petrochemical plant.
- Has ability to serve as an area technical lead, sharing expertise.
- Must be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the petrochemical industry
