Criminal Duty Solicitor (Permanent)
Criminal Duty Solicitor | Dewsbury | Up to £40,000
My client, a reputable and highly regarded law firm, require a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join their Criminal department at their offices in Dewsbury.
As the successful Duty Solicitor, you will play an important role in managing your own caseload of Magistrate Trials & Guilty Pleas, as well as attending the magistrates court on a daily basis.
It is key that you are able to demonstrate the ability to manage your own caseload and have the ability to delegate work to the clerks in the department. You will be required to attend Police Stations in and out of hours as part of the Duty Solicitors Scheme, and prior magistrates court case experience of advocacy and preparation, along with prior expertise in representing and attending meetings with clients in police stations.
Due to the nature of the work, out of hours will be required when needed.
