Salary: £9.65-£11.50

Job type: Full Time - Permanent.

Border Aggregates are a wholesale bulk & specialist aggregate supplier, servicing the North of England and beyond. We have an excellent relationship with our suppliers and we buy from direct sources. We spend a considerable amount of time visiting quarries throughout the UK and abroad, and in many cases, we have alternative sources for decorative aggregates, should there be a shortage of product from our regular supplier.

Job Purpose:

Our yard team are responsible for ensuring that Border Aggregates can deliver the service to our customers, our yard operatives must work together with our production operatives to ensure the smooth running of our facility, ensuring we produce a high-quality finished product within our deadlines all the while ensuring high health and standards are always maintained.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate need not be fully experienced, however they must have the drive and self-motivation to learn the various skills required to be a successful member of the team and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for somebody with a strong work ethic that can thrive under pressure, is enthusiastic, hardworking and will keep safety at the forefront of their mind throughout the working day

The Job Role:

The job is of an incredibly varied nature, and team members will be asked to rotate between various tasks. Subject to training these tasks will include.

• Driving Forklifts, Shovel Trucks
• Loading vehicles
• Offloading incoming deliveries
• Operating outdoor bulk bag plant
• Indoor Bag plant
• Indoor Cobble plant
• Pallet plants (Semi-Automatic)
• Stock Checks
• Carrying out safety and maintenance checks
• Ensuring the yard is organised and safe
• Greeting customers on arrival to the yard
• Other tasks as required due to business needs

The position is of a manual nature and involves lifting and handling of Materials whilst working outside in all weathers with minimal cover.

You will report daily to the Yard Manager or Yard Foreman and paid overtime may be required during busy periods.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Two Saturdays out of 4

Experience:

• Forklift: 1 year (Essential)
• Load Shovel (Desirable)
